FSB Mobile Deposit Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is FSB Mobile Deposit?
A: FSB Mobile Deposit allows you to deposit checks to your First State Bank of Blakely checking accounts using the camera on your iPhone or Android smartphone. Using the First State Bank Mobile Deposit app, you will login and select the account where the deposit should credit, take a picture of the front and back of the check, and enter the amount of the check.

Q: What do I need in order to use FSB Mobile Deposit?
A: To use FSB Mobile Deposit service you must have the following:

  • An active First State Bank of Blakely checking account and enrolled in NetTeller Online Banking.
  • The First State Bank of Blakely Mobile Deposit downloaded to your iPhone or Android smartphone.

Q: Where do I find the FSB Mobile Deposit app for my smartphone?
A: For iPhones search First State Bank of Blakely in the iTunes Store and download the free app. The app requires iOS5 or later. For Android phones search First State Bank of Blakely in the Google Play Store and download the free app. The app requires Android OS version 2.3.3 or later.

Q: Who is eligible to use FSB Mobile Deposit?
A: FSB Mobile Deposit is available to First State Bank of Blakely customers who have:

  • Downloaded the First State Bank of Blakely Mobile app and have enrolled in NetTeller Online Banking
  • An active First State Bank of Blakely checking account with a positive balance for at least 30 days
  • No more than 2 returned deposited items (chargebacks) in the last 90 days
  • Demonstrated financial responsibility with all First State Bank of Blakely accounts

Q: How do i request FSB Mobile Deposit?
A: Go to First State Bank of Blakely website, www.fsbanks.com and log into your NetTeller Online Banking. Click Contact Us located at upper right of your screen. Click New and send a secure message requesting enrollment in FSB Mobile Deposit. This request must include last four of your Social Security number, mobile phone number, email address, and checking account number(s) to be accessed. Savings accounts are not eligible.

Q: Do I need to use a deposit slip to make a deposit with FSB Mobile Deposit?
A: No. We will use what is called substitute (electronic) deposit slip to post the deposit to your account. You will only need to take a picture of the front and back of the check being deposited.

Q: Should I endorse my check before taking a picture?
A: Yes. You should write MOBILE DEPOSIT ONLY along with your name and account number.

Q: What type of checks can I deposit with FSB Mobile Deposit?
A: Checks made payable to you and drawn on a bank within the United States can be deposited through FSB Mobile Deposit.

The following types of payments/checks cannot be deposited through FSB Mobile Deposit (this is not a complete list; please see the terms for more information):

  • Foreign Checks (not drawn on a US bank)
  • Insurance Drafts
  • Savings Bonds

Q: When will funds be made available to me from deposits made with FSB Mobile Deposit?
A: We will make funds available for checks and items received, accepted, and successfully processed through FSB Mobile Deposit as per our Funds Availability Policy for your deposit account.

Q: Are there limits for deposits made through FSB Mobile Deposits?
A: First State Bank of Blakely Mobile Deposit limits are:

  • One check per deposit
  • $2,000 per day

Q: Do I get a text message confirmation on deposits?
A: No, but customers do receive an email confirmation for FSB Mobile Deposits.

Q: What do I do with the check after I deposit it using FSB Mobile Deposits?
A: Once you verify that the funds have been applied to your account correctly, you should hold the check in a secure location for 30 days and then shred it for disposal.

Q: What is the cut-off time for same day processing with FSB Mobile Deposit?
A: Deposits on FSB Mobile Deposit must be made before 4:00 pm Eastern Time in order to be processed on the current business day. All deposits on weekends, bank holidays, or those deposits made after 4:00 pm Eastern Time will be processed on the following business day.

Q: Will my FSB Mobile Deposit be memo posted on my account (immediately available)?
A: No, typically FSB Mobile Deposits will show on your account as available funds on the following business day.

Q: Is the FSB Mobile Deposit application available for Blackberry?
A: No, there are no current plans for our service provider to support Blackberry devices.
